The Medical Assistant will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for diagnostic tests, transfusions, donations, or research purposes. They will also prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, ensure the safe and accurate labeling of all samples, and maintain accurate patient records. The successful candidate will educate patients on proper pre- and post-procedure care, assist with other clinical tasks, and provide administrative support as needed.
Draw blood from patients for diagnostic tests, transfusions, donations, or research purposes
Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
Ensure the safe and accurate labeling of all samples
Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures performed
Educate patients on proper pre- and post-procedure care
Assist with other clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs, collecting medical histories, and performing basic laboratory tests
Provide administrative support, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling patient inquiries
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach to perform clinical tasks, and have visual and auditory acuity to assess patient conditions and communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.
At least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant with a focus on drawing blood.
