Description
The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and other equipment used in trucks and heavy machinery. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of Paccar, Peterbilt, Cummins, and Mack, and must be able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and equipment. Additionally, the candidate must have excellent multi-tasking and project management skills, as well as strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and other equipment used in trucks and heavy machinery.
Maintaining and repairing brake systems, transmissions, and other components.
Performing routine maintenance on equipment to ensure its longevity and efficiency.
Keeping accurate records of all work performed on equipment.
Working with other mechanics and technicians to diagnose and repair equipment.
Managing inventory and keeping track of supplies.
Adhering to safety regulations and protocols.
Assisting with other tasks as needed.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and equipment used in trucks and heavy machinery.
Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in diesel mechanics.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and parts.
Attention to detail.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
Certification in diesel mechanics or related field.
Experience with other types of heavy machinery.
Bilingual proficiency.
